Hi there! I’m Kaitlin, a recent college grad currently living in the Willamette Valley after transplanting myself here from Colorado. For pretty much as long as I can remember, baking has been a passion of mine. Baking duty somehow fell to me whenever someone in the house was in the mood for cookies, and at some point I started volunteering for it. In the past few years, cooking has also become a hobby, as I’ve (sort of) learned to shop and cook for one. Here you’ll find recipes that will not sap you of your precious hard-earned paycheck, your entire Saturday, or your patience. I’m writing this blog because I want to keep learning, and hope you do too!
The only common chocolate pairing I don’t like is chocolate-raspberry. Abnormal I know. But that means more for you!
I’m a majestic unicorn…uhh…I mean…ginger.
When asked what I like to bake most, I think my answer is pie but I’m not positive. It could be scones. Or cake.
If I’m not in the kitchen with flour in my hair (it happens), you’ll probably find me with my nose in a book. Among my favorites are The Phantom Tollbooth and One Hundred Years of Solitude.
I don’t like tomatoes. You’re welcome to eat them off my salad, with your own fork. You can trade me your onions if you want, too.
I like riding my bike around town. And hiking. And skiing.
A good burger + a good beer = happy me
If I could get on a plane to anywhere tomorrow, it would be here. In related news, I’m one of those weirdos who really enjoys flying.
Pickled things are delicious.
So is pie.
